People often ask me, how to increase their reach on Youtube. Often they will say that they have tried sending to friends and family, shared it on Facebook and Reddit but still, they are not getting the desired results.
Well today we are going to discuss 3 Tools that will up your Youtube game and get you more views!
One of the most powerful tools for growing your Youtube Channel is completley free and its been under your nose the whole time, Youtube Analytics is a free tool given to every single Youtuber to track a channels performance over time.
You’ll be able to see Watch Time, Views and Subscribers gained over a 28 day period by default, but you can dive deeper by changing custom date ranges and even drill down into an individual videos performance.
A great indicator of how well your channel is doing, is located in the ‘Reach Viewers’ Section of Youtube Analytics.
You can see how many times your video has been shown to a viewer (an impression) and how many times people have clicked through to your video (Click Through Rate).
If you aren’t getting a high enough Click Through Rate, this may be an indication that your video thumbnail needs tweaking to become more appealing to viewers.
As well as using Youtube analytics for troubleshooting purposes you can see where your views come from and plan accordingly.
As you can see, on my channel the majority of my views come from search, this is because I have optimised my channel and my individual videos to rank higher in the Youtube search results.
Again, this is a free tool made primarily for use with Google Adwords, but we can actually use this to our advantage and get an edge on the competition. Google Keyword Planner works directly with the Google Search engine and will give you an overview of how often a keyword or keyphrase is searched for. This is extremely helpful as it means we can find out what people are looking for and focus our efforts onto that kind of content moving forward!
With the Keyword Planner you can search for specific keywords and research other keywords that are closely related, not only that, but you’ll be able to see the Average Monthly Searchs for each search term.
Last but not least we have VidIQ and this is by far the most powerful tool for any Youtuber to have. With VidIQ you can do many of the things listed previously such as keyword research within Youtube itself.
One of the best features of VidIQ is their keyword research tool.
The Keyword Inspector shows you related keywords to your niche as well as a Keyword Score, this gives you a score from 0 – 100 for how much search the keyword has as well as a competition score, they then combine the 2 scores to give you an overall score, which can be vital to the planning process because if the overall score is closer to 0, it means it is not worth optimising for that video!
VidIQ is a free chrome extension but it also has 2 paid plans, Pro and Boost.
Pro is what I currently use which gives me access to a larger search critera on the Keyword inspector and Boost gives you suggestions for Titles and Descriptions meaning you can get up to 2X as many views using Boost apposed to Pro.
Currently Pro costs : $10 per month making it the best value for money however if you’re serious about increasing your reach on Youtube then Boost could benefit you more in the long run!
